Description
CYMA's CM.6xx series is a new line of M4 rifles, aimed at new players and those who want something with no compromises made with regards to the performance of the rifle on the skirmish field at a price point usually associated with pure garbage!
Rest assured, the CM.607 may cost peanuts, but its performance would lead you to believe otherwise! When tested, the AEG is spritely and energetic, with an excellent trigger response and a surprising rate of fire - a far cry from the usual sluggish but acceptable performance of similarly priced replicas. This AEG comes out of the box firing 350 FPS (+/-10%), which puts it right on the limit of what is allowed at most skirmish sites, meaning no need to change springs to run the CM.607 at the cutting edge of the field limits. The CM.607 also includes a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel, pre-installed from the factory, giving the CM.607 superb accuracy and consistency and allowing it to easily compete with more expensive replicas from other manufacturers.
Externally, the CM.607 follows a form factor that we are all familiar with, the US Army standard issue M4A1 carbine. Starting at the tip of the alloy outer barrel we can find a polymer birdcage flash hider, which conceals 14mm CCW male threads beneath it. The flash hider appears to be attached with adhesive, but can be removed with the appropriate application of hot water and force. Should you want to move this M4A1 away from the standard issue configuration, the 14mm CCW threads allow you to mount a suppressor, tracer unit, or alternative flash hider of your choice. As we move rearwards, we come to the M4A1 triangular front sight post/gas block, which houses a flat front sight blade, a bayonet lug (for Airsoft rubber bayonets), and a sling point. This sight is not only effective when combined with the rear ghost ring aperture, but gives the rifle its classic, ultra recognizable M4A1 silhouette.
Next up, we reach the handguard, which is comprised of two parts and is constructed from a high-density fibre-reinforced polymer. This handguard is modelled after the KAC RAS, one of the earliest 20mm Picatinny quad rails to enter the market, and the standard issue for the US Army as well as UKSF and SFSG on their L119A1 rifles. The handguard features 20mm Picatinny rails at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions on the handguard, providing loads of space for accessories such as PEQ boxes, vertical front grips, and tactical flashlights. The two-part handguard is not just for convenience of installation, the bottom part can also be removed, allowing an M203 Grenade launcher to be mounted to the barrel of the CM.607. The two parts of the handguard are held together by a front handguard cap, and a delta ring at the rear, both of which are constructed from polymer, finished in a gunmetal grey to match the barrel, controls, and carry handle; giving the CM.607 some contrast, and adding some realism by not having the whole AEG finished in the same tone of matt black. The barrel nut, which sits beneath the delta ring, is made from steel for added strength.
To add to the already surprising realism boasted by this partially polymer build, the lower handguard also includes an aluminium heat shield, something many manufacturers leave out. Coupled with the gunmetal grey finished parts, and the realistic dummy gas tube which is visible through the vents on the upper handguard, the CM.607 gains a serious edge in looks over rival replicas which pay less attention to small details. We have spent our fair share of time staring at real M4A1s in photos, and take it from us, the CM.607 goes just that little bit further than other budget replicas in the looks department and the result is an appearance that is far closer to a real M4A1 than the others.
The receiver of the CM.607 is a standard M4A1 type, constructed from polymer with a 20mm Picatinny rail along the top and an M4A1 carry handle installed. The carry handle also contains the multi-aperture rear "ghost ring" sight which can be adjusted for both windage and elevation. If the carry handle look doesn't suit you, fear not, it can be removed using the two thumbscrews on the left side and replaced with any optical sight or alternative iron sight for 20mm Picatinny rail. The lower receiver is where we can find the magazine release, positioned between the trigger and the magazine well on the right side. This puts the magazine release within easy reach of the index finger of the shooter's firing hand, allowing for fast "drop free" reloads whilst being protected from accidental bumps by the magazine fence, built into the M4A1 receiver. The fire selector can be found on the left side, sitting beneath the shooter's thumb, and provides 3 positions with a 90 degree throw between each. The selector clicks positively into each position and is extremely well placed for instinctive use, a characteristic for which the real M4/AR15 platform is well known. In the middle of the left side of the receiver, we can find the dummy bolt release catch, which provides no function on an Airsoft AEG but is nonetheless constructed as a separate part and finished in gunmetal grey, adding to the realistic looks of the CM.607. The trigger guard is a standard M4A1 flat type, which is a modular part of the design and can be replaced by any aftermarket alternative intended for M4/AR15 AEGs.
Moving to the upper receiver, we can find the mock ejection port on the right side of the AEG. The ejection port is covered by a dust cover, which can be opened by pulling the charging handle, found at the rear of the upper. With the charging handle held to the rear, the mock bolt carrier will remain retracted, providing access to the gear adjustable HOP unit. This allows backspin to be applied to your BBs to extend their range and improve shot to shot consistency. The unit can be adjusted and set for whichever BB weight you choose to use. The gear adjuster is an older design but has the added perk that it can be adjusted more quickly than the modern rotary style. To the rear of the ejection port, we also have a shell deflector and dummy forward assist, both of which serve no purpose other than to complete the M4A1 look. The forward assist can be pressed, but like on the real thing, it does nothing at all! The pistol grip of the CM.607 is a finger ridged "A2" grip, with checkering on the sides and rear face to ensure you can maintain a tight grip on the rifle, even in poor weather conditions.
At the rear of the receiver, we can find an ambidextrous CQD style sling plate, constructed from steel to provide enough strength to hang the CM.607 from a single point sling with no issues. The sling plate offers three loops to attach a "hook" type sling to, with two on the left side and one on the right. Following the sling plate we come to the alloy AR buffer tube, which provides 6 positions of adjustment for the polymer Crane stock. The stock also houses the CM.607's battery compartment, which can be accessed by pressing the two protruding tabs at the toe of the stock together, after which the rubber butt plate should come off. Following this, the battery compartment cap can be removed, and the battery inserted and connected. The CM.607 comes pre wired to a Mini-Tamiya connector, allowing it to use all the most commonly available Airsoft and RC rechargeable batteries. For the CM.607 we recommend a crane/nun-chuck battery, either a 7.4V LiPo or a 9.6V NiMh type. The crane stock also provides two additional sling slots for a more traditional two point sling, which can be found at the toe of the stock and can be used for either a left or right handed sling setup.
So, if you are trying to get into Airsoft but have other things to pay for, like real life for example, the CM.607 could be the excuse you were looking for! This AEG performs surprisingly well for this price, and comes with some impressive internal components. The Metal version 2 gearbox, steel gears and tight bore 6.03mm barrel give the CM.607 everything it needs to compete in a skirmish, and despite its partial polymer build, looks rather authentic to boot!

Joule Charts
Special Instructions
These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
This table should be used for reference, and cannot be used to check one weight against another, as the weight of the BB affects the power.
In order to check if the BB can be used with your replica chronograph using the weight you wish to use and then compare it against the table.
Every time you change weights you will need to re-chrono and check against the table. This is not a conversion chart between weights.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, and is the equivalent of 350fps, using 0.20g BB resulting in an upper limit of 1.14j.
