The full Aluminium construction of the CM.097A lends itself well to keeping the replica lightweight whilst maintaining an admirable level of battle-worthy robustness. The only polymer parts on this replica are the pistol grip, adjustable sliding stock and certain internal components. The replica features a steel SF style 3-Prong flash hider attached to the 14mm CCW threads on the tip of the aluminium outer barrel.

A mock low-profile gas block and gas tube are concealed beneath a sleek aluminium M-LOK handguard, featuring built-in steel QD sling points, which are also present on the stock of the rifle. The handguard features M-LOK attachment points at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions, keeping the weight down whilst delivering modularity. 

This attaches to the modern, angular VLT style upper receiver in a monolithic fashion, allowing the user to mount optics of any size at any position on the 12 o'clock 20mm Picatinny rail. When pulled, the mock charging handle exposes the ejection port and locks the mock bolt to the rear, allowing easy adjustment of the HOP without having to hold the charging handle back manually.

The mock bolt can be released using the bolt catch on the left side of the receiver, giving off the satisfying sound we all love. The only difference between the Cm.097A and the CM.097B model is the angle of the ergonomic pistol grip, with the 'A' variant offering a steeper grip angle more in line with modern shooting stances. The lower receiver has an extended mag release fence machined into the left side, leaving an opportunity for installation of an ambidextrous magazine release should you so choose. 

The fire selector markings are highlighted in white for safe and red for semi and full auto modes to ensure you know which modes are the dangerous ones! As we arrive at the rear of the rifle there is an ambidextrous buffer ring sling point, adding to the multiple sling mounting options present on the AEG, and a knurled buffer ring to assist removal of the 6-position buffer tube which provides access to the quick change spring system within the version 2 gearbox.

Inside this AEG is almost more impressive than its externals, which set the bar extremely high. The 6.03mm precision inner barrel, reinforced V2 gearbox with quick-change spring, Polycarbonate Piston with full steel teeth, CNC Machined Steel Gear Set (13:1), 8mm bearings, CNC Machined Aluminium Silent Cylinder and Piston Head, Bearing Spring Guide and High-Speed Motor are just a handful of the pre-upgraded features the CM.097A provides out of the box.  The MOSFET and Microswitch Trigger make for a rapid trigger response and rate of fire, whilst serving to protect your internals and battery with features such as low-voltage cutoff and active breaking to ensure the gearbox completes a full cycle every time the trigger is pulled.
