CYMA CM.070 M4SD Long w/Suppressor

The CM.070 is a rock solid, full metal M4/AR15 platform AEG with a unique external style, drawing on the M4SD format, but in a new extended form. The CM.070 uses a 10" quad Picatinny railed handguard, styled after the Knights Armament company free floated RAS system, CNC machined from Aluminium to provide all the accessory mounting space you will ever need, whilst keeping the front end of the rifle light and pointable.

Starting at the tip, we first find the suppressor for which this M4SD is named. The suppressor is constructed from alloy and attaches to the 14mm CCW male threads at the tip of the 8" outer barrel which are concealed beneath the 10" RAS handguard. This suppressor is styled after the KAC OHG suppressor, with heat-dissipating dimples and a knurled section near its base to aid removal and installation. There is no foam filling inside this suppressor as it conceals a 363mm 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel within it, providing extra accuracy and range over standard bore barrels. The inner barrel ends around 5cm short of the end of the suppressor, so if the CM.070 is not already quiet enough for you, there is room to add foam for an even greater suppression effect.

Next up, we reach the 20mm Picatinny quad railed handguard, which is styled after the KAC FF RAS, and is well finished with smooth anodization in matt black with a slight blue tint to it. This adds some visual interest, and realism, as it is not often you see a real AR15 rifle, especially a custom looking one like this with all the black tones matching perfectly. This to us, and many other Airsofters with an eye for detail gives the CM.070 a more convincing look. The RAS system features Picatinny rails at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions, providing plenty of room to add accessories. These include vertical foregrips, rail covers, tactical flashlights, PEQ laser units, and anything else you can mount to the ubiquitous 20mm Picatinny rail interface. This handguard also sports circular vent holes along its entire length, keeping the rifle light despite its full metal construction. Between the handguard and receiver, we can find a ridged collar that can be unscrewed in order to remove the handguard.

Moving rearwards, we arrive at the receiver, which is of a familiar M4/AR15 layout with a 20mm Picatinny rail running across its upper surface for the addition of optical sights. The CM.070 comes with a pair of spring loaded flip up iron sights pre-installed on the upper receiver rail and on the handguard. These sights provide adjustable front post, and two apertures to choose from at the rear which can also be adjusted. To deploy the sights, simply press the button on the left side of the sight base, after which the sight will flip up under spring pressure. To fold the sights, simply hold the button down and lower the sights, after releasing the button the sights will lock back into place.

 The fire selector can be found on the left side of the AEG sitting conveniently beneath the shooter's thumb. The selector is an extended design with angled serrations on the upper and lower surface to guarantee positive control. This fire selector provides 3 positions, SAFE, SEMI and AUTO denoted with engraved markings, with a 90-degree throw between modes of fire. The magazine release of the CM.070 is also an extended design, with ambidextrous functionality allowing both left-handed and right-handed users to carry out fast reloads with drop-free capability. Each of the magazine release buttons have textured surfaces to ensure your finger doesn't slip in wet weather, or when covered in mud!

The mock bolt release catch can be found in the center of the left side of the receiver and can be used to release the mock bolt when it has been locked open for HOP adjustment. The charging handle is found at the top center of the upper receiver and can be pulled back to open the dust cover on the right side and retract the mock bolt, revealing the gear adjustable alloy HOP unit. This unit is the legacy gear design and can provide fast adjustments, and is stronger than most HOP units due to its alloy construction. To the rear of the dust cover and mock ejection port, we can find the AR15 brass deflector and forward assist, both of which serve no function in an Airsoft AEG but are nonetheless essential for realistic looks.

The CM.070's pistol grip is a close replica of the real world "TD" grip, with a refined grip shape with texturing on either side for optimal grip. This grip is regarded as one of the more comfortable alternatives to the standard "A2" grip as all of the edges are reprofiled, removing any "hot points" of contact which can cause discomfort. This pistol grip pairs well with the enlarged trigger guard, which allows for effective gloved use of the CM.070. These two parts give the AEG a customized feel, even when it only just came out of the box!

Arriving at the rear we can find the steel ambidextrous sling plate, which mounts to the rear of the receiver between it and the buffer tube. This plate provides two sling mounting points, one on either side, which are perfectly suited to slings with a "hook" style attachment method. With just the sling plate installed you can add a single point sling straight away, but with an additional sling point added to the RAS handguard, the rifle can be set up with a 2 or 3 point sling. To the rear of the sling plate, we can find a standard M4/AR15 6 position buffer tube, which is constructed from alloy and comes with a VLTR style "club foot" battery stock installed. This stock provides the same amount of space as a standard crane battery stock but in a more unique exterior flavour. The club foot stock features a low profile adjustment lever, skeletonised design for weight reduction, and QD sling sockets on either side, together with a sling slot for a more traditional sling. At the rear of the stock we can find a grippy rubber butt pad, complete with chevron checkering to ensure it doesn't slip when shouldered. To install the battery in the CM.070, simply squeeze the two tabs at the toe of the stock together, then, once the tabs are removed from the body of the stock, pull the butt plate down to remove it. With the butt plate removed you should be able to pull out the battery cap, revealing the dual battery compartment in a similar manner to that of a crane stock. We recommend a 7.4V 1300mAh LiPo battery for the CM.070 for optimum fitment.

Internally the CM.070 has a few surprises in store! Well, not if you read the short description, that is! The CM.070 sports the standard internal enhancements of CYMA's full metal series, with 8mm bearing bushings to ensure the gearbox runs smoothly with minimal friction, and a ball bearing spring guide to reduce strain on the rear of the gearbox during cycling. The best feature of the CM.070 is without a doubt its piston head and cylinder head setup, both of which are "silent" types. This both reduces the noise of the gearbox cycling and reduces stress on the front of the gearbox from the impact of the piston. Coupled with the included suppressor (especially if you add some foam) and the high torque motor using neodymium magnets, this AEG cycles quickly and quietly, with minimal fuss.

So, if you are a sneaky player, looking for a stealthy style and stealthy functionality, look no further than the CM.070! This AEG would also make a great DMR base gun, with its tight bore inner barrel, pre-installed silent cylinder head and piston head, high torque motor capable of handing stronger springs, and its decent but not excessive overall length.
