Built on the bedrock of 21 highly successful previous Bolster Armouries releases, the AEGIS Advanced M4 AEG is Bolster's first foray into high-end military-style replicas. The AEGIS marries the peak performance and phenomenal effect on target provided by the ONYX series with a new external form patterned after a highly advanced real steel AR-15 rifle every British Military buff should instantly recognise.
Starting with the G&G SR15 E3 AEG, a licenced replica of the Knights Armament Company SR15 with superb quality core parts, the AEGIS is styled to closely replicate the latest service rifle of the British Armed Forces, the L403A1 aka the KS-1 Rifle. The real steel KS-1 is currently in the trials and development stage and the Airsoft market doesn't yet cater for those who want to build one in AEG form. If you want to be one of the first in the country rocking a KS-1 AEG, here is your chance.
With a very limited pool of appropriate external parts available, replicating the KS-1 was Bolster's biggest challenge yet. A custom 13.7-inch dimpled outer barrel was commissioned and paired with the Airsoft Artisan L403A1/KS-1 URX 6 M-LOK Handguard, the Angry Gun QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor, an authentic Magpul CTR stock and the universally-loved PTS Syndicate EPG pistol grip. The result is as close to a real KS-1 as you'll get using AEG parts, ideal for the Milsim-oriented skirmisher who likes to lead the pack!
As is the standard set by Bolster Armouries, almost none of the G&G internal parts remain; everything found to be suboptimal has been removed and replaced with the very best aftermarket upgrades available. Parts from Laylax Prometheus, Warhead Industries, RetroArms, FPS Soltair, Gate Electronics along with other big names in the high-end Airsoft aftermarket feature inside, and the result is every bit as impressive as previous game-changing Bolsters. Despite its Milsim leaning, the AEGIS discretely telegraphs its upgraded internals thanks to its unique Gate NOVA CNC trigger finished in Bolster Armouries Violet.

As most will instantly realise, the AEGIS is Bolster Armouries' take on the up-and-coming L403A1/KS-1, the latest service rifle of the British Armed Forces. Initially intended for the Royal Marine Commandos, the L403A1 is currently in the trials and development stage but is slated to be issued to the UKSF along with the Royal Marines to supplement and eventually replace the ageing but iconic SA80/L85 and L119A1 rifles.
Having mastered building world-beating AEGs which are more than a match for anything else you can buy off-the-shelf, the Bolster Armouries team set its sights on offering the same incredible performance showcased in the ONYX, ARKOSE, ATLAS, VULKAN and OBIRE platforms to those with a Milsim leaning. The AEGIS is the result, exchanging discrete yet stylish external design choices for a no-frills, cold and calculating military approach while maintaining the game-changing performance which put Bolster Armouries on the map.
While parts to build a KS-1 GBBR are slowly trickling into the Airsoft aftermarket, an AEG version is as yet unobtanium. As such, the AEGIS required a custom-made 13.7-inch dimpled outer barrel matching that of the real KS-1 to be paired with the Knights Armament licenced G&G SR15 E3 receiver, the closest AEG receiver style to the real steel KS-1.
The Airsoft Artisan URX 6 handguard replaces the original G&G URX 4, outfitting the AEGIS with a flawless replica of the real steel KS-1 handguard equipped with M-LOK slots and a 20mm Picatinny top rail, with all the details, authentic markings and flawless matching Airsoft Artisan is known for. Up front, the Angry Gun QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor complete with suppressor shroud and steel QDC tri-prong flash hider dominates the overall aesthetic with its squat and brutal form, allowing you to run the AEGIS as the Royal Marines would or quickly detach it when the mission requires.
To complete the KS-1 styling, the AEGIS is equipped with an authentic Magpul CTR stock, the exact stock used on the L403A1 and widely regarded as the best carbine stock in the world with a proven history of strength, reliability and comfort. The CTR is paired with the PTS Syndicate EPG pistol grip, the gold standard in Airsoft pistol grips and a dead ringer for the Magpul MIAD pistol grip used on the real steel KS-1 rifle.
Inside, things get even better! While aesthetics are a big part of a Bolster Armouries build, a Bolster is only a Bolster when it can outshoot everything else on site. Inside, you'll find the usual complement of high-end internal upgrades, hand-fitted by talented and proven techs with the objective of achieving perfect performance.
All the biggest names, from Laylax Prometheus to Warhead Industries and FPS Softair feature inside and all parts are tuned to perfection, with the Gate TITAN V2 with its newest “Expert” firmware acting as the brain of the platform. Adding to its box of tricks, the TITAN now communicates directly with the ESC module on the Warhead Industries 36K CNC Black Brushless Motor, meaning the Bolster bar is raised further still when it comes to electrical efficiency and rate of fire.
New additions to the Bolster Armouries formula are the 14.5 Steel Tooth Piston and CNC HOP-up Unit Gen.2 from Airsoft upgrade legends RetroArms, machining masters at the cutting edge of innovation. The RetroArms piston offers superb strength and ultra-low weight in equal measure, enough to get the most out of the earth-moving torque provided by the Warhead Brushless Motor. The generation 2 RetroArms HOP-up unit sits alongside the ever-impressive Gate EON but offers better alignment in the G&G receiver than the EON, along with slight performance improvements from its cutting-edge TDC trolley.
Also inside are the NOVA CNC Trigger, Power Piston Head and Protector Cylinder Head from Gate Electronics, finished in Bolster Armouries custom violet anodisation. Commissioned by Bolster specifically for its complete builds and not available separately, these gorgeous CNC aluminium parts give those in the know a subtle indication that this KS-1 replica has had the Bolster Armouries custom touch.
If the mass-produced guns from other manufacturers are the equivalent of a Ford, a Bolster Armouries AEG is a Rolls Royce; crafted with care, to perfection, with the highest quality parts available and a distinctive external look leaving onlookers in no doubt that this is a Bolster Armouries AEG.
Bolster Armouries AEGIS Advanced M4 AEG
The AEGIS is forged around the G&G SR15 E3 AEG base gun, an officially licenced replica of the Knights Armament Company SR15 rifle. While the SR15 is beautifully made and a perfect replica of the real thing, it requires significant external changes to match the real steel KS-1, including the use of parts which simply don't exist yet for Airsoft AEGs.
First and foremost, the outer barrel needed changing to match the length and profile of the KS-1; something which can only be achieved with custom-made parts. As such, the Bolster team commissioned their 13.7" dimpled AEG barrel to ensure the AEGIS has the correct barrel length to handguard length ratio; a big part of the KS-1 look. This distinctive outer barrel is made from the original G&G outer barrel; shortened, rethreaded and machined with iconic KAC style dimples to complete the look. The dimples are visible through the Airsoft Artisan handguard M-LOK slots and the barrel length is absolutely spot on, providing a sleek, integral look with the Angry Gun QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor mounted.
The beautifully machined and flawlessly authentic Airsoft Artisan KS-1 handguard is what gives the AEGIS its instantly recognisable KS-1 silhouette, matching the real thing perfectly, including all of the small changes from previous URX handguards. Realistic markings are present on the collar of the handguard, the QD sling sockets of the URX4 have been correctly deleted and M-LOK slots are present at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions along with the offset angles, ready for your choice of mission essential accessories.
The receiver is the only part of the AEGIS build which isn't an exact match for the real thing, though it is as close as possible with current AEG receiver options. Being an officially licenced Knights Armament Company SR15 receiver, KAC markings are present on each side of the magazine well; the ambidextrous fire selector, magazine release and bolt release catch are all on board and the ambidextrous QD receiver end plate is fitted, ready for a QD sling swivel on either side. The only deviation from the KS-1 design is the orientation of the bolt release catch on the right side; the AEGIS has a horizontally oriented bolt catch ala the real SR15 and the real KS-1 has a vertically oriented catch mirroring the original catch on the left side of the receiver.
Trademarks-wise, the left side of the receiver includes the iconic Knights Armament logo with "STONER RIFLE" engraved just above, named for the creator of the AR-15, firearms design legend Eugene Stoner. On the right side, we have "SR15 5.56mm", "KNIGHT'S MFG. CO." and "TITUSVILLE, FL" and "USA" just below. While they may not be perfectly accurate to the real KS-1 in some places, the markings are 90% a match for the real thing, are deeply and precisely engraved and as close to the markings of the genuine KS-1 as can be achieved with an Airsoft AEG.
The ambidextrous fire selector switches are authentically replicated on either side of the lower receiver, just above the pistol grip in a very accessible location; one of the traits the AR-15 platform is known and loved for. The selector switch provides 3 positions; Safe, Semi-automatic, and fully automatic with a 90-degree throw between each mode and is mirrored on either side to allow left and right-handed shooters to operate this essential control intuitively. The right side selector switch is scalloped in classic Knights style, ensuring you don't get finger fatigue hammering the trigger, instead experiencing the thoroughbred ergonomics high-end KAC AR-15 rifles are known for.
The magazine release is also ambidextrous, positioned on each side of the magazine well for intuitive handling whether you're left or right-handed. A drop-free design ideal for speedy reloads, this magazine release is a push-through design well protected on all sides against inadvertent activation. This is one of the many improvements made by Knights Armament to the legendary AR-15 design which has lasted the ages, first used on the SR15 in the URX2 era along with the US Army's M110 SASS sniper rifle and still doing the job on Knights Armaments' latest design, the KS-1.
At the top rear of the receiver, we have a KAC-style extended charging handle, providing easy access to the HOP-up unit, even for gloved users. Pulling the handle back will open the steel dust cover and retract the mock bolt, revealing the distinctive white HOP-up adjuster dial of the innovative Retro Arms CNC HOP-up unit. Adjustments should be applied until your projectiles follow the flattest possible trajectory and for best results, the Bolster tech team recommends using G&G Armament P.S.B.P Competition Grade 0.28g BBs.
The rear of the receiver is equipped with an authentic replica of the KAC ambidextrous QD sling mount, offering a QD sling socket on either side of the AEGIS, ready for the most modern sling setups to be mounted via QD sling swivels. QD Sling setups are a more user-friendly alternative to standard sling loops, allowing you to quickly and intuitively disconnect your platform from your sling and reconfigure as necessary. Those who prefer a more conventional sling, fear not! The authentic Magpul CTR stock at the rear is equipped with footman loops, ready for retro sling solutions.
Following the sling plate, the timeless M4/AR-15 buffer tube follows, offering 6 adjustment positions for the pre-installed CTR stock. The buffer tube also serves as the battery compartment, ideally suited to 11.1V 1450mAh LiPo batteries, one of which are included in the AEGIS package. To access the battery compartment you can either remove the rubber butt plate via its Allen bolts or pull the stock adjustment pin all the way out and slide the stock off the tube to the rear. Each adjustment position is also numerically marked on the buffer tube with laser engraving, saving you time when getting ready to rock pre-skirmish!
Airsoft Artisan L403A1/KS-1 URX 6 M-LOK Handguard
Being intended for Milsim skirmishers and those looking for a detailed military-style replica, the AEGIS build would not be complete without one of the few KS-1 appropriate parts available currently on the Airsoft market; the Airsoft Artisan L403A1/KS-1 M-LOK Handguard. Machined to perfection with craftsmanship exceeding even the original G&G URX4, the Artisan KS-1 handguard is a perfect match for the real deal, down to every angle and detail with a robust yet silky-smooth anodised finish.
The upper surface of the L403A1 handguard is equipped with a precisely machined 20mm Picatinny rail, ready for your choice of accessories whether you want to deck your build out like a real KS-1 in the field or run it slick. At the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions, we have M-LOK negative space attachment slots with additional slots at the offset angles, giving you unparalleled flexibility in where you mount your M-LOK mission essentials or 20mm rail adapters.
The handguard also includes the URX6-specific gas block cutout at the "mid-length" position and correctly deletes the QD sling points of the URX4, making it a perfect match for the real L403A1 handguard. The only difference we can find is that the Artisan L403A1 handguard uses an integral barrel nut like the URX4 but the real URX6 reportedly uses a separate nut, though this is not noticeable from the outside and won't make a difference to the AEGIS' versatile build, dynamic looks or game-changing performance out on the field.
Bolster Armouries Custom 13.7" Dimpled Outer Barrel - Aluminium - 14mm CCW Male Threading
To complete the KS-1 look, a custom outer barrel is an absolute must as the Airsoft aftermarket does not yet offer the correct barrel length and profile for an authentic build. While the original G&G SR15 outer barrel is spot on for the SR15, it required extensive machining work to be a closer match for the KS-1 in the configuration in which it will serve the British Armed Forces.
To start, the barrel length was reduced by 0.8 inches and rethreaded at the tip with 14mm CCW male threading, ready for the Angry Gun QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor. Along its entire length, the barrel was machined with the iconic KAC dimples seen on the KAC PDW and other Knights Armament firearms, visible through the ports of the Airsoft Artisan handguard and an essential part of the real steel KS-1 build.
In real steel terms, the dimples are designed to function similarly to barrel fluting; assisting with cooling by increasing the barrel's surface contact with the air while allowing for a heavier barrel profile without adding excessive weight. When it comes to Airsoft, this is just for the look but the weight reduction from the dimples gives the front end of the AEGIS a more nimble feel, allowing you to sweep quickly between multiple targets and keep the muzzle under control while operating at full speed.
Genuine Magpul CTR Stock
The Magpul CTR stock is widely regarded as the best AR-15 carbine stock available for the vast majority of applications and is designed to be used with AR-15 rifles with a mil-spec buffer tube. This stock has been used by the US Army Special Forces, US Navy SEALS, and our own UKSF, the special forces directorate comprising the SAS, SBS, SRR, and SFSG (1 PARA). Being so well-liked in the UK Armed Forces made the CTR the perfect fit for the real steel L403A1 and thus, the Bolster Armouries AEGIS.
The CTR is an "A-frame" design, intended to keep the weight of the stock to a minimum whilst retaining optimal strength. The adjustment latch of the CTR is concealed within the A-frame design, avoiding snagging on slings or other equipment, and keeping the latch shielded from inadvertent activation. A premium chrome-silicone lock spring is used in the adjustment mechanism to provide dependable locking and long life.
The top of the stock has a sloping profile to provide a comfortable cheek weld whilst retaining a slim footprint. The sling mounting options provided on the CTR stock include; a QD sling socket on either side (accommodates up to 1.5" swivels), 1.25" sling loops on the bottom of the A-frame and at the rear, and a lanyard hole at the toe of the stock which is perfect for custom paracord sling solutions.
The CTR also features a "friction lock" system, intended to eliminate any wobble between the stock and buffer tube for enhanced weapon stability and a premium feel. The adjustment latch includes moulded in linear texturing to ensure that when you need to make an adjustment, there is no chance of slipping off the latch. The friction lock can be found on the bottom of the stock, at the front, and will pop open when the adjustment latch is pressed. After selecting your adjustment, simply squeeze the friction lock closed to eradicate any movement in the stock.
To ensure the stock stays firmly in your shoulder the CTR includes a removable 0.3" rubber butt pad with an anti-slip surface which also serves to increase impact protection in case the rifle is dropped on the stock. This stock has been copied by a plethora of Chinese factories, but the copies are known for their, to put it mildly, "approximate" tolerances, and have been the cause of many facial injuries when used on real rifles. The use of a genuine Magpul CTR on the AEGIS affords it the best stock money can buy and the exact stock used on the real L403A1/KS-1 rifle; an advanced design and inherent strength of Magpul's advanced high density polymer.
PTS Syndicate EPG Pistol Grip
The Bolster Armouries AEGIS is rocking the advanced EPG Pistol grip, offering a highly supportive design with a curved extension to help you maintain a comfortable hold and protect the web of your hand whilst manipulating the platform in a dynamic environment. The EPG is constructed from Dupont Zytel, a high strength, abrasion and impact-resistant thermoplastic polyamide/nylon, aka, the best of the best when it comes to high density polymer.
With comfortable dot texturing on either side and crackle texture on the front strap and backstrap, the EPG is the perfect enhancement to ensure an AEGIS-wielding player maintains a positive grip on the rifle in any weather condition, even while wearing thick gloves.
The EPG was chosen partially because it is the best aftermarket AEG grip money can buy and its very similar profile to the popular Magpul MIAD grip used on the real steel KS-1, echoing the MIAD's excellent reputation for providing a comfortable grip which suits a wide variety of hand shapes and sizes.
Angry Gun QDC/MCQ-PRT KS-1 Suppressor
One of the most cutting-edge aspects of the L403A1/KS-1 is its QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor, complete with a tri-prong flash hider, compact QDC suppressor and suppressor shroud. The shroud is designed in the real world to function similarly to popular "Manta" suppressor covers, reducing thermal signature to prevent OPFOR using night vision, thermal optics and vehicles with FLIR to pinpoint an operator's position.
The QDC/MCQ-PRT suppressor is constructed from CNC-machined aluminium and is flawlessly finished and rocking realistic markings, as we would expect from Angry Gun. To mount the QDC/MCQ-PRT, its innovative QD mechanism requires you to index the pin on the flash hider with the corresponding groove inside the suppressor collar. With this done, turn the shroud counter-clockwise (with the front of the suppressor facing away) to tighten and lock the suppressor in place. To remove it, simply reverse the process if you fancy a less clandestine look and want to show off the detailed steel KAC Tri-Prong flash hider and hear its beautiful tuning fork ring!
MCQ stands for "Mini Close Quarters", reflecting the design requirements of the real steel suppressor. At only 4 inches overall length, the QDC/MCQ-PRT setup adds very little extra length to the AEGIS, keeping the build adaptable and flexible; equally suited to close-range engagements and outdoor operations. The shroud of the QDC/MCQ-PRT can also be removed from the suppressor to reveal its inner beauty but we don't recommend doing this regularly as the process can cause damage. It would be a real shame to ruin the QDC/MCQ-PRT's beautiful finish!
Internal Enhancements
As with previous Bolster Armouries releases, the internal parts present in the Bolster Armouries AEGIS are hand-selected for the high quality materials used in their construction, as well as for their exceptional performance. Each Bolster Armouries Gearbox is hand-built, with each gear being perfectly shimmed for smooth operation, and the piston position also being corrected for the perfect Angle of engagement (AOE) to provide maximum efficiency and longevity.
This gearbox is matched with one of the most well-regarded steel tightbore inner barrels out there, renowned for its rigidity and high quality internal finish. This is paired with the latest and greatest CNC HOP-up unit to hit the market, the Retro Arms rotary HOP-up unit with its TDC Trolley and a Laylax/Prometheus Purple HOP-up rubber, based on the original Marui design but comprised of longer-lasting materials. Let's have a closer look at what goes into an AEGIS AEG, and why these parts are so noteworthy:
Laylax/Prometheus 6.03mm EG Inner Barrel - 285mm - Stainless Steel

The Prometheus 6.03mm EG inner barrel is constructed from SUS 304 stainless steel (also known as SS304 or AISI304), with a chromium content of between 18% and 20% and nickel content between 8% and 10.5%. This choice of material not only gives the inner barrel exceptional rigidity, but has higher corrosion resistance than other stainless steels, aluminium, or brass used in other inner barrels.
This inner barrel was chosen primarily for its reputation as one of the best AEG upgrades money can buy, but also for its precise dimensional tolerances which are guaranteed to be within 1/100th of a millimetre of the manufacturer's specs. This means we can confidently say your Bolster Armouries AEG will shoot straight and true, as long as you do your part! This part also serves as a great way to increase the FPS of an AEG by a small amount without adding additional strain to the gearbox, simply by using the compressed air provided by the piston more efficiently.

By using superior quality components, the RetroArms CNC Rotary HOP-Up Chamber Gen.2 for M4/AR-15 AEG allows users to get the best possible performance out of their Airsoft M4/AR-15 AEGs. The Hop-Up Chamber is constructed from 7075 aluminium using CNC machining, resulting in a tough and exquisitely finished component with tight tolerances for a perfect air seal.
Being a rotary design, this HOP-up chamber can be finely tuned and adjusted for various weights of BB, holding its setting far more effectively in the long run than the older gear adjuster design. A nice perk of the Gen.2 unit is its inclusion of two HOP-up arms; one for a conventional HOP-up setup and an alternative designed to provide more direct force to the top of the HOP-up nub, making use of what is known as a "TDC trolley" and working similarly to much-lauded TDC HOP-up units. Naturally, Bolster Armouries has taken pure advantage of the TDC Trolley which is why you won’t find an OMEGA nub in the AEGIS; it simply isn’t needed.
Packed with plenty of enhancements intended to simplify the installation process and encourage good practice, the RetroArms CNC Rotary HOP-Up Chamber even boasts a threaded barrel locking ring which keeps the inner barrel straight and stable, an innovation not found in the ProWin and Gate EON designs. This also enhances air seal, allowing practically no air to escape between the inner barrel and chamber walls for maximum efficiency and superb shot-to-shot consistency.
Potentially the best HOP-up unit money can buy, the RetroArms CNC Rotary HOP-Up Chamber Gen.2 for M4/AR-15 AEG is at the very least a serious contender for the top spot, next to the legendary ProWin HOP-up chamber and the gorgeous Gate EON. One thing is for sure, the Bolster Tech Team were very impressed with the downrange effect of the RetroArms unit, providing a slightly tighter grouping with the same incredible 60m+ range of previous ONYX, OBIRE and VULKAN platforms.

The EG Hardened Steel Gear Set from Laylax is a standard ratio gearset constructed from heat-treated Japanese steel, widely regarded as one of the strongest standard ratio gear sets on the market. Each individual gear is shimmed to perfection to remove any lateral movement and mesh cleanly, an essential process when a Warhead Industries 36K Brushless Motor is involved!
Laylax, also known as "Prometheus" or "First Factory" has been a household name in the area of AEG upgrade parts for over a decade. Gate Protector Cylinder head - CNC Machined Aluminium - Bolster Armouries Violet

The Gate Protector CNC aluminium cylinder head is constructed from CNC machined aircraft grade aluminium to an extremely high degree of precision. The Protector is designed to ensure the nozzle aligns perfectly with the nozzle guide on the cylinder head itself to prevent feeding and FPS fluctuation issues due to what is known as “mid-cap syndrome”.
The Protector is also fitted with a shock-absorbing rubber bumper which functions the same way as the AirLab Sorbothane pad used in previous Bolster builds, reducing wear and stress on the gearbox shell and limiting wear on the piston head. To ensure we get the air seal qualities we should with a precise CNC machined part, the Protector also has a dual O-ring configuration around its circumference to completely close the gap between the cylinder and cylinder head.
The Protector variant used in the AEGIS is finished in Bolster’s unique metallic violet which is unfortunately not visible from the outside. What a shame! Nonetheless, the metallic violet colouration of this part is your certificate of authenticity as this finish is exclusive to Bolster Armouries builds and not available separately.

As with the ‘Protector’ cylinder head, the Gate Power Hybrid Piston Head is constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium using CNC machining technology to provide the tight tolerances necessary for a perfect fit between the cylinder walls and piston head along with flawless air seal qualities. The Power Piston Head is also finished in Bolster Armouries' unique metallic violet, though it is hidden from sight inside the gearbox shell.
The Power piston head features a pair of O-rings around its circumference to completely seal any gap between the cylinder and the piston head itself, completely eliminating air leaks to ensure that all the compressed air generated by the gearbox is translated into downrange effect.
Supplied with an AOE correcting spacer as well as special weight pads which allow for tuning for optimal performance with various weights of ammo, as you will receive it, the Power piston head is configured perfectly for the AEGIS internal setup and the G&G Armament 0.28g BBs the Bolster Armouries team recommend.

The RetroArms 14.5 Steel Tooth piston is comprised of two parts, combined to provide the best compromise between keeping the weight low, and the rigidity high. The piston body is constructed from carbon fibre-reinforced polymer, providing ample strength to resist the strain from rapid cycling while keeping excess weight to a minimum.
The piston teeth which mesh with the steel sector gear are constructed from high carbon steel to provide the rigidity required for long-term use alongside the Warhead CNC Black Brushless Motor turning the Laylax 18:1 gearset at an incredible rate under spring tension. Bolster Armouries M120 Spring - Ferrosilicochrome with Zinc coating

The Bolster Armouries M120 spring is constructed from SiCr Alloy (also known as Ferrosilicochrome), with a zinc coating to discourage corrosion. This Alloy is well known for its use in manufacturing springs for the automotive industry and many others requiring static torsion loaded springs with high corrosion resistance.
The spring is a non-linear design, reducing strain on the gearbox by varying the coil tension over the course of compressing the spring. This means the spring design takes advantage of the points in the cycle of the AEG where the piston is in the best position to handle the high strain, such as the midpoint while reducing the initial load on the piston teeth.
This M120 spring has closed and flattened ends which reduce wear on the piston and minimize the chance of it failing. The Bolster Team had these springs made this way in order to reduce the strain on the internal components in the high speed Bolster gearbox while providing the necessary velocity, and its design which provides optimal performance with the Laylax 6.03mm stainless steel tight bore inner barrel.

Gate Electronics is well known amongst Airsofters for providing some of the best MOSFETs the Airsoft industry has to offer. These include the basic X-ASR which provides battery protection, the ASTER which adds GATE Control station App functionality, and the Gate's flagship option, the TITAN. The TITAN takes the already well equipped Bolster Armouries AEGIS and transforms it from an extremely well tuned AEG into the realms of an advanced training weapon.
The TITAN provides a plethora of functions, including trigger travel adjustment, pre-cocking, Burst mode, Binary trigger, and adaptive active braking. A total of 8 optical sensors within the TITAN are used to track the movement of the gears, piston, and trigger to ensure the gears complete a full cycle with each trigger pull and the gears stop exactly where they should. The TITAN MOSFETs installed in the Bolster Armouries AEGIS are pre-setup with the optimal settings for the platform and provide instantaneous trigger response and premium level functionality, including protection against over-discharge of your battery, short-circuits, and overheating.
Unlike other advanced MOSFETs, the TITAN has remarkably low power consumption and includes a "sleep mode" which activates when the AEGIS has not been fired for some time. This protects your battery in the event that you forget to disconnect it after a skirmish, while other MOSFETs may drain the battery entirely over time, rendering the battery useless.
The settings programmed into the TITAN MOSFET by the Bolster Armouries tech team have been selected to provide the absolute optimum settings for the AEGIS platform. The motor is perhaps the most important part when it comes to providing extreme levels of performance in an Airsoft AEG, though with a faster motor comes the need to upgrade other internal components to prevent premature failure. In a home build, this often results in an "arms race" of parts so to speak, as whenever a part is upgraded it will require another part to be upgraded to prevent damage and maximize the AEG's potential.

These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.
FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.
Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.
