Regardless of whether you plan to do an early Marine expeditionary unit loadout or if you just prefer the simple, robust and no-frills design of the classic 1911 with only the essential modern enhancements, the R27 provides. With full alloy construction externally, this pistol has a realistic weight and lets out an awesome metal on metal clack as it is fired. The contrast between the brushed bare metal finish of the outer barrel and the smooth matt black frame and slide prove that the simple things can still stand out.

Front to back this 1911 GBB features NOVAK style front and rear sights, providing easy to acquire sights which, due to their robust nature can be used to rack the pistol by dragging it across your belt or gear, in the event you have only one hand free. The sights chosen by the USMC MEU, you know they provide a perfect compromise between speed, strength and functionality. As with the original MEUSOC pistol, the R27 features discrete but aggressive front and rear slide serrations, ensuring you have a solid grip on the slide when manually cycled, whether you grip it from the front or rear. At the rear of the slide you will find a skeletonized hammer, providing the exact amount of material to keep the part both strong and light. The frame does not have a rail on it, but is compatible with 1911 rail adaptors which wrap around the trigger guard should you want some more modernity on your transitional 1911. With an ambidextrous manual safety on either side of the frame, easily accessible with either thumb, you are guaranteed a fast draw and engagement with a little practice. The beavertail style grip safety is extended to ensure it is depressed properly when the pistol is gripped, but keeps the pistol relatively immune from negligent discharges, provided you do your part. The grips installed on the lower frame are of the Pachmayr style, wrapping around the front of the frame and giving the pistol a seriously solid feel in the hand, and keeping the look appropriate for a replica MEUSOC pistol. The trigger moves in a linear fashion, meaning it discourages flipping the muzzle upwards during rapid firing and features 3 lightening holes just like the real MEU. The magazine holds approximately 23 rounds and features an extended baseplate making the magazine easier to remove and retain because let's be real, we don't want to get into the habit of dropping our expensive GBB mags during a reload. The baseplate extension is also in line with the real MEU 1911 pistol, meaning aside from the trademarks, this is a 100% faithful replica, the kind of airsoft pistol you would have had to spend several hundred pounds for and many hours of building to get a few years back. You could always have trademarks engraved if you really wanted, and Army has thought of that, leaving the entire pistol devoid of markings other than .45 ACP deeply engraved on the chamber. No "6mm for airsoft only" or other similar markings, making the Army R27 a very convincing replica. The barrel also features a female thread allowing you to use any aftermarket suppressor or tracer after installing an Army Armament 1911 thread adaptor.

Internally, this 1911 is a full Tokyo Marui clone, meaning it is fully compatible with any aftermarket components intended for the platform, giving many options for upgrades or repairs. The adjustable hop-up can be found beneath the slide following a field strip and is compatible with enhanced hop rubbers for TM pistols or WE GBB rifles allowing you to potentially extend the range of this pistol to that approaching a rifle! Worth noting is that this 1911 has the barrel bushing style of disassembly, meaning to remove the barrel from the slide you will need to press the recoil spring in from the front of the slide and rotate the barrel bushing, after which the barrel can be removed. Magazine-wise, it is compatible with Army, TM, and KJW 1911 magazines, provided they are for full-length 1911s and not Commander or Detonics compact models.
