This box magazine is the second generation from Battleaxe, equipped with a steel feeding gear and an uprated motor to extend lifespan and improve feeding reliability. Compatibility-wise, this mag is for A&K and Classic Army M249 AEGs but may fit other brands, though we cannot guarantee it.
Like the original M249 box mag, the Battleaxe version features both an auto-winding mode and a sound control mode, selectable through a switch on the bottom. The sound control mode will wind the mag as you shoot and the auto-winding mode allows you to re-tension the mag manually if your setup is too fast for the sound control mode to keep up. Description
If you're seeking a new box mag for your M249 AEG, the Battleaxe 6000rnd Electric Box Magazine for M249 AEGs is a fine choice. Designed to mimic the real steel M249 200-round belt box, this electric winding box magazine holds an astonishing 6000 BBs with the choice of either sound control or auto winding. This is the improved version, boasting a steel feeding gear and a more powerful motor, giving it improved strength for a longer lifespan and the ability to keep up with faster setups.
The feeding mode can be selected via the switch on the bottom of the mag, with the central position being "off". The sound control mode will wind the magazine as you shoot, detecting each shot with a small internal microphone. If your setup has a particularly high rate of fire, the auto-winding mode allows you to re-tension the magazine if the sound control mode can't keep up. Before shooting, use the auto winding mode to tension the mag then switch to sound control, using the auto wind function if you notice misfeeds.
To load the Battleaxe 6000rnd Electric Box Magazine you will need to remove the left side panel by pulling it clear of its attachment lugs, install a 9V battery (not included) into the battery cradle, pour your BBs into the upper section and close the magazine up again. To mount the box mag to your M249 you will need to lock the box magazine onto its attachment lug on the bottom of the receiver and then insert the BB feed chute into the AR magazine well.
To give your M249 a more realistic look, the set includes a set of dummy links and cartridges, covering the feed chutes and designed to mount inside your M249's feed tray. This makes a massive difference from an aesthetic standpoint, concealing the Airsoft nature of your '249 and adding a side of realistic detail.
Compatibility-wise, this mag should fit the A&K and Classic Army M249 AEGs and may also work with other brands based on the Classic Army design.
