The latest version of the RunCam Scope Cam 4K, the "2" model, was designed from the ground up for weapon mounting and has several improvements in how the camera operates, as well as a vibration function to provide a tactile indication that the camera is recording. The glass front lens is now made from 3rd Generation Corning Gorilla Glass, making this far more robust than it was previously, and should the front lens get shot out it can be replaced quickly and simply by unscrewing the protective lens housing. The removable Lithium-Ion battery can now be topped up on the go using a USB power bank, and provides up to 240 minutes recording time when set to 1080P recording at 60 frames per second. The RunCam App allows you to control all aspects of the Camera from your Phone/Tablet, view footage live, and preview footage so that you can get the perfect placement for your camera to capture your greatest Airsoft moments!

The RunCam Scope Cam 2 4K comes with an integral low profile Picatinny rail mount, keeping the camera tight into your primary weapon, preventing snags and keeping the camera out of the way of your optical sights and other accessories. The design of the RunCam blends perfectly with the lines of a rifle in a way a GoPro or similar action cam never could, keeping your rifle looking serious and ready for battle whilst you document your killing sprees!

The Scope Cam 2 4K can capture footage at one of several frame rates, allowing you to increase or reduce the quality of your footage depending on how much resolution you need and the length of your video. The RunCam App gives you the choice of 1080p @ between 50fps and 120fps, 2.7K @ 60fps or 4K @ 30fps, allowing a greater length video to be recorded if you need quantity over quality. The maximum run time for the unit is up to 240 minutes of footage under 1080P @ 120fps, thanks to very low power consumption by the CPU. When recording in 4k @ 30 fps or 2.7K @ 60fps the improved 1400mAh Li-ion battery allows the unit to record for up to 160 minutes, a significant improvement over the generation 1 RunCam 4K. In addition, the device's rechargeable battery can be topped up using a USB power bank whilst you film, allowing plenty of power for those extended filming sessions.

So whats is new about the generation 2 Scope Cam 4k? The list is extensive, RunCam has really gone above and beyond to provide the best weapon-mounted camera on the market. The Scope Cam 2's battery is removable, and spares are available, meaning even if you opt not to take advantage of the camera's ability to charge on the fly with a power bank, you can keep extra power on tap so you never fail to capture your kills. The new battery is a Lithium-Ion type, which is more stable and provides significantly improved run time over the previous generation's LiPo battery. The front lens has been strengthened and can be removed and replaced, meaning your camera isn't finished if the protective lens is shot. The camera is now made from CNC machined Aluminium, giving it greater strength and resistance to drops. The camera is also now rated IP67 Waterproof, meaning you can capture dramatic footage in inclement weather, and the filming doesn't have to stop when the heavens open!

The Scope Cam 2 4K uses an improved method of operation over the previous generation. The camera is now activated using a slider switch on the top of the camera casing, and turning it on or off will provide a tactile vibration, confirming that you are filming and saving you the hassle of checking the lights to make sure you are live! This also avoids having to use a very unstealthy "beep", allowing you to remain hidden, activate your camera, and capture your sneaky kills whilst preserving battery life. The wifi button is located just ahead of the slider switch and enables the camera to be connected to a mobile device for remote viewing. The Scope Cam 2 4K is also compatible with RunCam's Flashback cable, which takes the form of a pressure switch that plugs into the USB Type-C port. This switch can be used to record 15-second segments of footage with a quick tap, and can even record the 5-15 seconds before you pressed the switch! This feature is perfect for snipers, who may not be in constant action but may need the ability to quickly record a nice ranged kill.

There are two different lenses to choose from, depending on your role on the Airsoft battlefield and the type of footage you are looking to capture:

40mm Focal Length

This option is best suited to Airsoft Sniper Rifle footage, as it provides the most zoomed-in image, and is best recording a distance of about 30-70m. The field of view with this lens is 8.2 degrees.

25mm Focal Length

This option is best suited to mid-range Gameplay Footage and is best suited for mounting to an Assault rifle, LMG, or Submachine gun. The field of view with this lens is 12 degrees. This Focal Length optimized for capturing footage from a distance of approximately 20-50m.
