Guerilla Tactical ACOG TA01 Style Red Dot Sight

If you're interested in ACOGs but don't want what some consider excessive magnification for Airsoft, the Guerilla Tactical ACOG TA01 Style Red Dot Sight is what you need. This red dot sight replicates the TA01 model of the iconic ACOG FPCO, used by UKSF, the British Army, US SOCOM and many others, not to mention being featured in both the Call of Duty and Battlefield game series.

The Guerilla Tactical TA01 offers a red dot style reticle which can be adjusted to 5 brightness levels for both the red and green colour options. This means you can adjust the colouration of the reticle to stand out best in your operating environment and adjust the dot intensity for different ambient lighting levels, using the lowest brightness settings in dark conditions and the brightest in bright sunlight.

The zero adjustment dials are present on the top and right side of the optic, taking the form of capped turrets with a rubber O-ring for water resistance. Unscrew each cap to access the adjustment turret, and adjustments can be applied using a flathead screwdriver. Capped turrets protect the internal adjustment turrets from accidental bumps and scrapes to ensure your zero stays true, and keeps the design of the Guerrilla TA01 authentic to the real steel ACOG.

Just below the ocular lens at the rear, we can find the battery compartment well-concealed inside the mount, keeping the external shape as close as possible to the real steel TA01 ACOG. To access the battery compartment, simply unscrew the cap and insert the included 3 x AG9/LR936 button cells in the direction indicated on the left side of the mount (positive terminals facing the front of the optic). With this done, reinstall your battery cap and you're ready to get busy.

On the top of the TA01, we are treated to a set of fixed ghost ring backup iron sights (BUIS), just like the real thing. These sights are fantastic for the occasion when you forget to turn the dot off and drain the battery, but also work remarkably well paired with a tactical flashlight in CQB. The irons are a big part of the TA01 look, but if you want to replace the rear sight with an RMR-style optic and use the appropriate mount plate to replicate the UOR ACOG used on the L85A2 or enhanced TA01s used on L119A1 rifles, that is always possible.

The 20mm Picatinny rail mount is built into the Guerilla Tactical TA01 ACOG RDS, meaning easy mounting with no extra bits to buy at the slight sacrifice that this ACOG cannot be removed from its mount and fitted to an AR-15 carry handle, unlike the 4x versions. This is the same for all other ACOG red dot sights we've seen, and since everyone has 20mm Picatinny railed receivers nowadays anyway, it is a small price to pay to have RDS functionality inside a slick ACOG-style shell!
