EMG SAI BLU GBB Pistol

The EMG SAI BLU is one of the most well equipped EU series pistols we have ever encountered, coming straight out of the box ready to take a 14mm CCW threaded suppressor, with 4 different red dot sighting options and the choice of standard or suppressor height open iron sights. Obviously, the SAI BLU is not all about function, it also sports a drop-dead gorgeous yet aggressive tactical style with its Salient Arms enhanced ergonomic frame and pyramidal texture on the rear, front and top of the slide to promote optimum control.

Starting at the tip of the outer barrel we can find a 14mm CCW thread adapter, attached to the 11mm CCW female threads on the alloy outer barrel. This allows a suppressor to be added straight away, or a more compact form to be used with the thread adapter removed. Attached to the thread adapter we can find a Salient Arms style thread protector, with helpful knurling to make installing and removing it a breeze. The outer barrel carries through with the distinct Salient Arms style, with flat sections along its full length, functioning as fluting to reduce weight and provide additional heat dissipation in the real firearm. Across the top of the outer barrel we can see the first of our licensed Salient Arms trademarks, in the form of "S A I" engraved across the top fluting cut, and the "S in a cube" Salient Arms logo with "9 m m" engraved on the chamber.

The slide of the SAI BLU, known as the "Tier One Utility Slide" sports attractive and highly effective pyramidal checkering at the front of the slide, at the rear, and across the top, giving you all the options in how you manipulate the slide, and assuring you get a good grip regardless of the weather conditions. The texture on the top of the slide also functions to reduce the "heat mirage" in the real SAI BLU. To the rear of the rear serrations, we can find "SALIENT" engraved on either side, angled to match the serrations and continue the aggressive and dynamic look of the pistol. The top of the slide comes with suppressor height sights pre-installed, and a set of standard EU style sights in the box so you can equip the SAI BLU for whatever mission you have ahead. The rear plate of the slide also includes texture, to allow you to push the slide forwards easily in the event of the slide not returning fully, and also includes the "S in a cube" logo.

The SAI BLU comes with 4 different mount plates for red dot sights, and a cover plate if you prefer to run iron sights. Each of these plates provides different screw hole configurations to match the most common and effective red dot sights on the market. The plate marked "02" is compatible with the well known and highly effective Vector Optics Frenzy, our favourite slide mounted pistol optic. Including this kind of functionality out of the box is very rare, and usually requires purchasing a specific sight mount plate and carrying out all the fitting yourself. Including mounting plates for practically any micro red dot sight on the market is a very generous addition from EMG.

Moving down to the frame, we see an EU series frame with some notable and considerate changes made. The frame rail, located at the front on the dust cover of the pistol is now a standard Picatinny rail instead of an EU style rail, allowing more options for mounting tactical flashlights, lasers and other accessories. The trigger guard has been heavily modified, featuring an undercut for both the firing hand and support hand; promoting a high grip to help control recoil and muzzle rise. The grip itself features comfortable but effective stippling over a wider area than a standard EU series, providing improved gripping qualities. The rear strap of the frame has unique dot texturing, extending the custom looks of the SAI BLU and highlighting this as an enhanced design. The magazine release is raised and extended, and features gripping texture in the form of the "S in a cube" logo which is both comfortable and easy to access. The slide release is found on the left side, and is an extended Gen.4 style, providing fast access whilst staying out of the way to avoid inadvertent activation. To complete this advanced looking EU17, a subtle magazine well flare has been added to help guide your magazine home after a swift reload. The trigger is also a "flat" type, retaining the dual stage functionality of the original EU series trigger in a custom styled trigger intended for high speed operation, complete with Salient Arms branding on either side. These features combine to provide a refined EU series pistol which solves all the perceived issues with the original and provides superb ergonomics and a stylish, custom look.

As far as performance goes, the SAI BLU is very impressive, combining heavy recoil for an immersive firing experience with snappy slide cycle speed to help you keep up in game. Though pistols dominate at close range, the SAI BLU can reach out and touch people if necessary thanks to its gear adjustable HOP-up unit, found on the underside of the outer barrel and accessible when the slide is removed for a field strip.
