Much like the classic 1911, the AM.45's frame and slide are constructed from aluminium alloy, meaning that it still maintains its authentic weight and hefty blowback action. The custom furniture is constructed from lightweight polymer so as to not offset the weight of the tried and tested 1911 form factor.

Sporting classic open ironsights, the AM.45 is for those of you who like a modern style but aim the old-fashioned way with plenty of room for peripheral vision to catch any wily strays in the field.

The AM45 has a smooth grip, with enlarged side panels, which match the front compensator nicely. It features a textured and serrated backstrap for increased ergonomics and a comfortable grip.

The pistol gives you control over your shots via the adjustable gear type HOP unit. To access the HOP, simply remove the slide from the frame, which is achieved by first removing the magazine. Then line up the slide leaver with the smallest cut-out on the slide (pull back the slide until the inner barrel is just visible. Next press the slide release pinion through from the other side. Once the slide release is removed, the slide can be smoothly pushed forward and off the slide rail. Again, the HOP unit is a gear type, adjusted by turning it either up or down. The addition of a HOP allows you to apply backspin to your, making your BBs spin harder as they leave the barrel, helping them stay in the air for longer.

The trigger is similar to the original 1911 design with a few modifications. Much like the hammer, the trigger is of a skeletonised design for a lightweight, more modern design, in addition to being a flat-speed trigger for those of you with an itchy trigger finger! The AM.45 features a trigger lock safety, meaning the trigger cannot be pulled when the rear safety latch is pushed upwards. Adding to the futuristic aesthetic of the pistol, the hammer matches the design of the trigger, being a skeletonised design, which also features a ridged texture on the top to facilitate ease of cocking, for those movie style standoff moments.

Just behind the trigger, we have the textured mag release, which not only has an ultra-modern vibe but is incredibly tactile when activated, while a similar texture can be found on the backstrap of the grip, in keeping with the modern stylings of the pistol, which means that, combined with the side panels makes this pistol fantastic to hold and shoot. Another modern feature of the AM45 is in the left side panel, which boasts a thumb indentation for a really ergonomic grip and really helps in bridging the gap between the backstrap and the mag release.

The pistol comes included with an 18-round green gas-powered magazine with an interesting modification. The magazine base plate sports a flared extrusion, which is in keeping with the rest of the pistol's aesthetic but also aids in ergonomics and grip as your little finger is held firmly in place against this plate for a more comfortable grip and sturdy aim.
