  • 500 FPS on 0.2g BBs - Hits hard!

If you have your sights set on a sniper rifle but want something with a more militant look, the CM.702B M24 from CYMA is exactly what you need. This spring bolt action sniper rifle is based on the real steel M24 SWS, the US Army's standard sniper rifle and comes equipped with a 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel straight out of the box!

As far as affordable sniper rifles go, this is one of the most consistent we have seen, hovering around the 500 FPS mark on 0.2g BBs with only a couple of FPS deviation between shots. While it isn't based on the VSR-10 system, it is compatible with upgrade parts for the Classic Army CA/M24 but for all but the most particular snipers, upgrades shouldn't be necessary. Just slap a scope on top and get busy from your hide in the woods!

Description

If you're looking for an affordable sniper rifle but you prefer things mil-spec, the M24 is the way to go! The CM.702B from CYMA is based on the real steel M24 SWS, the US Army's primary bolt action sniper rifle from 1988 right up until the present day, though modern versions are known as the M2010 ESR.

The M24 is based on the Remington Model 700 in its "long action" form, and as such, the receiver is much bigger than that of comparable bolt action sniper rifles like the VSR-10 which is based on the "short action" version of the M700. This gives the M24 far more presence in the hands than a VSR-10 and ideal for those who want a more realistic sniping experience.

The outer barrel of the M24 measures a lengthy 23 inches, giving you a respectable 490mm of inner barrel for increased range and accuracy; exactly what you want from a sniper rifle. The inner barrel is also a 6.03mm tightbore, meaning a slight FPS increase and improved accuracy provided you use high quality BBs.

The CM.702B comes with an unthreaded tip pre-installed on the outer barrel but is packaged with a 14mm CCW male thread adapter. This means you can add a tracer unit, suppressor or flash hider easily by installing the adapter, meaning no messing around looking for rare, specialised adapters when the time comes to upgrade! The adapter simply threads on, replacing your original muzzle cap.

Following the outer barrel rearwards, we come to the chassis/stock of the rifle which is constructed from tough high density polymer with a "bubble" texture effect to improve handling qualities. On the bottom of the chassis, we have a Harris-style bipod/sling stud, ready for a Harris-style bipod to be fitted, followed by another lug with a steel sling loop pre-installed. The front sling point can be paired with the rear sling point on the stock to mount a two-point sling; an especially useful addition if you run your sniper rifle with a sidearm.

Just aft of the sling points, we come to the magazine well which is located in a similar position to that of the VSR-10 sniper rifle, though the M24 uses its own internal system. The magazine catch is built into the front of the magazine itself, making it centrally positioned which is ideal for left or right-handed snipers. Compatibility-wise, the CM.702 accepts M24 magazines from CYMA, Classic Army and Snow Wolf. To the rear of the magazine well we also have a realistic mock magazine, mimicking the real M24 perfectly.

Next up, we reach the receiver which is constructed from alloy, matching the metal to polymer proportions of the real M24 perfectly. Up top, we have a 20mm Picatinny scope rail, ready for your choice of riflescope to be mounted. The rail also has a cutout in the centre, intended to allow spent cases to clear the action in the real thing.

The bolt handle is located on the right side of the rifle and is an extended design with a textured tip for optimal grip. To cock the M24, you will need to lift the bolt, pull it rearward until it locks, push it back forwards and rotate it back into place, just like a real bolt action sniper rifle. The bolt assembly is constructed from alloy and does require some force to cock due to the rather strong 500 FPS spring inside.

The trigger is housed inside the alloy trigger guard assembly and is the standard curved sniper rifle trigger designed to encourage proper finger placement. The trigger pull is nice and short, making it easy to take those accurate long range shots, and the trigger guard is spacious enough to allow all but the thickest gloves to be used.

Behind the trigger guard, we come to what is known as a "Semi-pistol-grip", the traditional gripping location for bolt action rifles. The grip is set at a comfortable angle for shooting both prone and standing, and the bubble texture finish of the stock aids grip so you can keep the rifle firmly in your hands, with or without gloves. The grip of the M24 is wider than comparable VSR-10 grips, making it extra comfortable when shooting from the prone position; the most effective shooting position for snipers.

At the very rear of the M24, we come to the adjustable stock. The stock has a unique and secure method of adjustment, allowing you to set the stock at the perfect length for you. To adjust the stock, simply loosen the smaller locking wheel and then turn the larger adjustment wheel to incrementally extend or retract the stock. Tightening the rearmost wheel will then lock the stock in the desired position.

This is a great improvement over extendable stocks with set positions, as you can make very precise adjustments to either tailor the rifle to your body or adjust based on your stance and position so you've always got the rifle set to exactly what you need in the field. The butt plate at the end of the stock is constructed from rubber with a textured surface, meaning it will stay locked into your shoulder as long as you do your part.

If you are curious about sniping but you want something with a military aesthetic, you can't go wrong with the CYMA CM.702B. The advantage of this, the Tan version is that it can be more easily concealed in a natural environment and is less likely to draw the eye. It also makes a great base for a camo spray job! Generously equipped with a 6.03mm tightbore straight out of the box and packing a serious wallop with 500 FPS on a 0.2g BB, all this bad boy needs is a scope!

Special Instructions

These table can be used as a reference to see if the BB weight you are using will be over acceptable Joulage limits at some Airsoft Sites in the UK. To check if the weight can be used chrono your weapon using the BB you intend to use, and then compare it to the chart.

FPS, Power and Joule Limits can vary from site to site, so please get in touch with where you're going to play with in advance to avoid disappointment.

Suggested limits are based on Joulage Limit rules used Halo Mill: Proving Grounds, with a 350fps limit for Automatic Replicas, 400fps for Semi-Automatic Replicas, and 500fps for Bolt Action Replicas.

Tap the tabs below to open the relevant chart for your replica.
